VISION
What we believe in:
The goal of Music Art and Movement is to provide a safe space and caring environment that offers play-based learning centered in literature and creative expression through the arts. We hope to provide students with opportunities to learn about themselves as they try new things, while learning about the world around them through exposure to new concepts in literature and art. We also hope that interacting with passionate peers and professional artists will inspire our students, opening their eyes to how impactful their choices are.
We believe that literature-based instruction is a powerful approach to education. This approach:
allows students to understand words in context
encourages the development of higher-level thinking and communication skills
helps students learn about cultures and societies different from their own
fosters empathy with exposure to other perspectives
captures attention, increasing retention of material
Play-based learning also has far-reaching effects including:
greater language, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
greater creative and critical thinking capabilities compared to standard seatwork
Plus, it’s fun!
We believe that each of our young artists are unique and with the proper environment, quality material and instruction, and opportunities for creativity, a child will not only develop as an artist, but intellectually as a person.
